The history of steel production at the BGH Freital location began already in the 19th century with the steel foundary "Gusstahlfabrik Döhlen".
The BGH Edelstahl Lippendorf GmbH was created by combining the former forge of Chemiewerk Leuna and the Materialunion Lippendorf.
Since its founding in 1466, Schmieden has been the core competency of the Boschgotthardshütte (BGH) in Siegen.
